May 2010

OY! Time went by so fast. I didn’t realize how fast.  I’ve been quite busy with film shoots & music gigs.

Musically speaking, as I continue to write material for the next album, the EP continues to get airplay on various radio stations (on air and online) and we’ve been playing the local scene.  Radio Canada’s Espace Musique has just included us in their play list – what an honor!

Check out the shows/gig page. We’re working hard and as the band evolves and gets tighter, the guys are happy to call it the Carolyn Fe Blues Band.  I am honored, however, just because I am up front singing you have to know that it’s all about the guys.  They really got my back. We’re in the studio recording our next album.  So stay tuned, come out and see us play live – it would be really nice to see you out there.

Our next show will be under the big tent at the Parc Jean Drapeau in honor of The Arthritis Society.

On Sunday, May 30, 2010 thousands of people in 17 communities across Canada will come together to raise funds for this very important cause. Hosted by The Arthritis Society and presented by the makers of TYLENOL®, the Walk to Fight Arthritis is your chance to fight back against this disease. Rain or shine we will be playing for you for FREE starting at noon.  Donations – any amount will be most appreciated and will go directly to The Arthritis Society.

On the acting side – well, that’s the reason why I haven’t been able to update my page so much.  I’ve been quite busy doing a couple of film shoots.  It’s all been fun and busy and tiring…but I am not complaining, it’s a most fulfilling tiredness that I am feeling these days.  I just have to measure my energy so as not to crash.

Theatre projects are in my mind but I think I will let summer pass by until I decide if I am going to produce something for the fall.

In the meantime, I have pictures from our past gig at Le Saint Laurent Blues Bar on May 14th but I will upload them later on.  The venue in Repentigny (Quebec) is quickly establishing itself as a solid Blues venue and this, only after 1 year.  I tip my hat off to the owner, a woman, who had the balls to go for it. She has had big name Blues players come out and grace her stage.  AMEN to her and long live the Blues!
