May 2013

Where did time go? It's already mid-May! Where do I start...MUSIC! Festival Season is coming up. Check out the calendar. I will try my best to keep it up to date as much as possible.

Well, it's that time of the year, Lys Blues Awards are back! Last year Carolyn Fe Blues Collective won Best Blues & Associated Styles Album for “Original Sin” and I was nominated in the Best Female Artist Category.

This year, with the ups and downs we've been through, I have been nominated once again for Best Female Artist Category and Rami Cassab, our man on the guitar, for Musical Performance category. Won't you join in and show your support and vote for us? Here's how it works: Click on Le Net Blues, 2013 Lys Blues Awards

Once you've received your password - Vote, I've also given you a couple of suggestions of fellow musicians such as Cecile Doo-Kingué whose album « Gris » is an amazing sounding piece of work and a friend, James Green who's been working the Montreal music scene quite diligently over the years.

We continue to work on our 3rd album and I must admit, it's shaping up quite nicely. I look forward to sharing the music with you really soon! I am having a great time re-defining and "grounding" the band's sound with the guys. As we progress with the album, I cannot help but take a step back and see them enjoy themselves with the creative process. I am so grateful to have these guys around me.

THEATRE : Now that's another bittersweet story. We've been in rehearsals for a couple of weeks. I don't know what is in the air but this season has been quite tough on my asthma. So tough that we've had to postpone the play's run until the Fall/Winter season. It was a most difficult decision. My stubborness hung on to the last minute until it was clear there was no way I could have survived 2 weeks run of the play. EVERYBODY has been so supportive and understanding...My director and co-producer, Lib Spry along with Luciana Burcheri (Stage Manager/Assistant Director), Le Jack (my fellow actor), the folks at the Rialto Theatre (Ezio & Patrick), Barbara - Press Relations...I mean EVERYBODY has really gotten behind me with good wishes. I look forward on getting Marg Szkaluba, Pissy's Wife on stage for you. Working with good folks make the healing process that much easier.

Here's a little gift for you...it's a free download until I get better.

See you soon!
