February 28 @ 8:00 pm will be the fundraising event for ‘Night, Mother at Café Sarajevo (cafesarajevo.ca).

To keep up with one of the mission statements of my production company, Altera Vitae Productions, I’ve decided to partner a little known group called “FSOS”, Family Survivors of Suicide (suicideaftermath.com). It’s a group that helps family and friends cope with a suicide. During the fundraising event, we’ll be having local (Montreal) talents perform the songs that they donated to the soundtrack of the play. These good folks are: Daniel IorioDush and of course, my band DD Swank. The soundtrack is also available on CD for 10$ (5$ goes directly to FSOS)…And that’s not all…during the play’s run from March 19 to 30th, the March 25th’s show will be dedicated to FSOS. That means that 10$ of every ticket sold will be donated to them. It’s my way of paying things forward and I hope that you’ll be coming to see the play or help support the cause.

We’ve been getting excellent media coverage on our efforts. What an energy booster that is! Just when I think I have nothing more to give, I get a call from a radio station or a TV station and once again, I am filled with energy spreading the word about our production and who we’re supporting.

On another note, I finished a run with Mainline Theatre’s production of a revamped version of Henrik Ibsen’s “Hedda Gabler” written by, Judith Thompson. I had a great time with a great bunch of people. I even made a new buddy Jane Gilchrist who played Juliana Tesman. What a ball of energy that lady is! The cast & crew were amazing and Jeremy H (director) who was sick throughout the rehearsals made it through the run and I actually saw him smile in the end. We were honored by a couple of surprise visitors during the run, Mr. John Cusack and Mr. Denys Arcand came to see us. WOW! What an honour!

It’s been quite busy and I like it that way. Between my day job and the acting & music gigs, I am having fun and staying true to my production company’s name – “alternate life”.

Oh, did I tell you that I also signed with a new agent. Such a professional house who really works for the actor! They’ve booked me in quite a few auditions and I am so grateful for their support.

That’s it for now. I have to put my nose back to the grindstone because even though ‘night Mother is about to go onstage, I am already preparing for the next production…stay tuned!
