Rock Camp for Girls & Gender Nonconforming Youth - Montreal, Qc

Once again, Carolyn Fe has been invited to join the facilitators of Rock Camp for Girls and Gender Nonconforming Youth. She'll be giving a workshop on the techniques of stage presence to teenaged budding musicians in this 2019 edition of the Summer camp. This sold out workshop has been given to both adults and youth in the past and Carolyn Fe has seen the fruits of her labor when seeing her students step up on stage as professionals.

Something about the organization: Founded in 2009, Rock Camp for Girls and Gender Nonconforming Youth is a 5-day music camp where girls and gender non-conforming youth learn and practice instruments, form a band and write a song together, and perform at the Showcase Concert! The camp is a space where girls discover and express their talents, and become leaders in creating their own kind of music!Rock Camp for Girls Montreal fosters the promotion of self-esteem, skill-building and critical thinking skills for girls and gender non-conforming youth through collaborative music composition and performance. We supplement the music component of Rock Camp for Girls Montreal with workshops based on feminist and anti-oppression frameworks that provide girls and gender non-conforming youth with a space for critical examination and empowerment.
