The Alumnae Theatre - Toronto, On

I am honored to be part of this tribute to the late Shirley Barrie (1945 - 2018), Playwright, Scriptwriter and Producer.
In her honor, I will be part of a reading of her play Straight Stitching, directed by Lib Spry her friend and former Co-Artistic Director. The play, about immigrant women working in the garment industry, toured public, high, and adult education schools; as well as performing in community centres and at conferences. The play won a Chalmers Award for the playwright, Shirley Barrie, and was nominated for a DORA award for Theatre for Young Audiences.
