Directed

Jesse spent two seasons directing short plays for the Montreal
School of Performing Arts’ Express O Theatre summer theatre
programme. He joined 6th Avenue Players, where he directed Craig
Pospisil’s It’s Not You, David Ives’ Arabian
Nights, Madeleine George’s The Most Massive Woman Wins
and Caitlyn Murphy’s Brazen. Jesse holds a degree in Communications
with a specialisation in film production from Concordia University,
and has just finished writing a short film project, which he
will be looking to cast, crew and shoot later this year. You

As a non-director, Jesse worked as a dresser and costume tech
on the Montreal West Operatic Society’s 2001 production
of The Sorcerer, then stage-managed the following year’s
The Pirates of Penzance, wherein half the cast of 48 had swords,
the other half had hoop skirts — and nobody lost an eye.

Starring
: Alexandra Valassis as Jessie
Alexandra studied theater at Dawson College's professional theater
program. She has appeared in numerous stage & film productions
some of which include Titania in Midsummer Night's Dream, Macduff
in Macbeth, Narrator in Rocky Horror, stabbed victim in God,
Ginger in Gilligan's Island, Helena in The Tragedy of Man, Mrs
Ravenscroft in Ravenscroft and of course she's very proud to
have been a part of the best ensemble cast Mecca Award this
year for To the Green Fields Beyond where she played Woman.
As part of Dum Blond Productions she's co-written and co-produced
Sex and La Cite part 1&2 with Paula Davis where she's had
a faaaabulous time portraying the infamous whoroin Samantha
Jones. She wishes to thank the whole production crew of Altera
Vitae for their professionalism and dedication to such an important
controversial topic. To Sandy Ferguson the best mama anyone
attempting suicide could ever hope to have-I love you. Lastly
she'd like to express her appreciation to Carolyn and Jesse
who have given her a rare opportunity to bring to life such
a beautifully written character. I'm honored, thank you. |

Starring
: Sandy Ferguson as Mama (Thelma)
Sandy studied theatre and dance in Montreal for many years and
has performed in Montreal, Toronto and Hudson. She has acted,
choreographed, danced and sung with the Hudson and Lakeshore
Players’ Clubs, the Hudson Music Club, and the Hudson
Village Theatre Pantomime Productions, in “Broadway Encore”,
“Anne of Green Gables”, “The King and I”,
“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat”,
“The Wizard of Oz”, and “Hello Dolly”.
Sandy enjoyed being Number 11 in “Twelve Angry Jurors”,
Mona in “Queen Milli of Galt”, Louella in “What
Kind of a Life is That? ”, and above all, Truvy in “Steel
Magnolias”. However, being Thelma in “’Night
Mother” is an experience beyond compare. Thank you Altera
Vitae, and I mean everyone on the team, for this amazing privilege.

Stage
Manager : Mindy Sirois
Mindy is a graduate of the John Abbott College Professional
Theatre Program. Past theatre credits include: Stage Manager
for ‘Let Me Go’ by Noah’s Ark Production,
Sound designer for Persephone Productions’ ‘Spring
Awakening’, member of the Montreal’s Just For Laughs
and of the St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival technical crew.
She has worked for Tangente – Lieu de diffusion en danse
contemporaine. Mindy was also the Stage Manager and head technician
for the Just for Laughs "Best Montreal Fringe Festival
Comedy" award winners Boy Groove. |

Set
and Light Design : Audrey-Anne Bouchard
Audrey-Anne Bouchard is originally from Quebec City where she
studied contemporary dance, visual arts and literature. Recently
graduated from Concordia University’s Design for the theatre
program, she is now involved as lighting and set designer in
both worlds of theatre and dance. She is currently pursuing
an apprenticeship with Lighting designer Étienne Boucher
with whom she worked on Hippocampe (Théâtre de
Quat’sous) and L’Énéide (Trois Tristes
Tigres) In December she was invited to join the creative process
of Robert Lepage’s Lip synch. Her personal selected credits
include lighting design for Shakespeare’s Henry the fourth
part I, directed by Sarah Stanley (Concordia University) and
lighting design for GAS, directed by Guy Sprung (Infini Theatre).
‘Night Mother is her second collaboration with director
Jesse Corbeil with whom she had the great pleasure to work on
Brazen as lighting designer in 2006. |

Sound
Design : Dan Legault
Dan has been in the music industry way before the internet was
a viable medium for musicians. He has worked for R.I.O. (studio/label),
which was owned by Bob “Rags” Ramaglia (manager
Corey Hart, April Wine). As a musician his live experience with
various cover and original bands has had him perform on TV,
music videos, opening for major recording artists as well as
headlining festivals in front of 30,000 people and a 2 month
tour of Morocco.
Dan currently owns and operates his own multimedia company called
O.S.S. Media Group which handles web design and audio production.
O.S.S. currently has 2 full length albums completed that has
gained attention from the industry. Currently O.S.S. is working
on tracks for an upcoming release for Universal Music. O.S.S.
has also teamed up with Altera Vitae Productions in recording
voice demos for actors. |
