Directed by : Jesse Corbeil
This is Jes’s second time directing for Altera Vitae Productions, and is pleased to be back working with the team again. Previous directing credits include Marsha Norman’s ’night, Mother (which was his first play with AVP), as well as Craig Pospisil’s It’s Not You, David Ives’ Arabian Nights, Madeleine George’s The Most Massive Woman Wins and Caitlyn Murphy’s Brazen, all with 6th Avenue Players. Before that, he spent two seasons directing with Express O Theatre, the summer theatre programme of the Montreal School of Performing Arts. Jesse has also worked as a costume tech, dresser and stage manager for the Montreal West Operatic Society. When he’s not directing theatre, Jes plays 5-string bass for Montréal- and Calgary-based Celt/pop band, Squidjigger and Late for Dinner, a Montréal-area folk/rock band. He pays the bills by working as a freelance writer. Hey, it’s a living… sometimes. You can read more about Jesse and his projects at jessecorbeil.ca, squidjigger.ca and latefordinner.ca

William Ward as Gerardo Escobar
William Ward first appeared on the stage in the production of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ in 1997. Later on, he performed in such notable plays as ‘Twelve Angry Men’ and ‘A Chorus Line’. He put theatre aside for a few years while attending Concordia University where he got his degree in Communication Studies. Since graduating he has been slowly getting back into theatre and was most recently seen in MoonChild’s productions of ‘When I Was Jesus’, ‘Full Moon Fever’, and ‘La Bella Luna’. In collaboration with his friends from Uncalled For Improv, William has also written, produced, and performed in the award-winning sketch comedy shows ‘THUNDERSPANK’ and ‘Blastback Babyzap’ at the Montreal and Toronto Fringe and Just For Laughs festivals.

Sam Croitoru as Roberto Miranda
Sam Croitoru has just completed working in two "Indie" films, Killing Ruth-The Snuff Chronicles (produced by Cinegraphe Productions) and Section 753.2 (produced by Damascus Productions) both coming to a theatre near you. Sam thanks Altera Vitae for the opportunity to be part of this important production.

Carolyn Fe as Paulina Salas
There was a time when Carolyn would ask herself what she would do if the time came to retire. But a second question always comes up, “Retire from what?” With her latest CD getting airplay on CHOM (97.7FM) and Planète Jazz (91.9FM) and an upcomming benefit show at Bourbon Street West she continues the search for plays that will educate people about important issues involving our local community groups. She believes that we can all do more to better the lives of others around us. By purchasing your ticket you are helping RIVO and your community. Thank you for supporting Altera Vitae.

Mindy Sirois, Stage Manager & Lighting Design
Mindy has been working with Altera Vitae since it’s debut with the inaugural presentation of ‘night, Mother by Marsha Norman in March 2008. This is her third production as Stage Manager and second as Lighting Designer. She is pleased to be working with a company who dedicate their time and resources to community organizations in need. Please help spread the word. Visit RIVO: www.web.net/~rivo for more information about the organization associated with Death and the Maiden. 2nd year, 3rd play, 4 you… Enjoy!

Scott Drysdale, Technical Director

He loves his job!

Dan Legault, Sound Designer
Dan has been in the music industry way before the internet was a viable medium for musicians. He has worked for R.I.O. which was owned by Bob “Rags” Ramaglia (manager for Corey Hart, April Wine). As a musician, his live experience with various bands has him performing on TV, music videos, opening for major recording artists as well as headlining festivals in front of 30,000 people and a tour of Africa. Owning and operating a multimedia company, Dan has produced full length albums for artists helping them gain recognition in the industry. Dan has teamed up with Altera Vitae Productions in recording voice demos for actors.

Vladimir Cara, Technical Assistant & Choreographer
Vladimir believes that one is as free as his mind lets him be. He doesn’t like to say, “I can’t” because he believes that anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it. Guided by this motto, he was part of several productions this past year: A dancer in the contemporary piece Keeping Your Eyes Gently Closed, Studio 303, a fight choreographer for Jehanne of the Witches, production assistant and prop designer for Quills, assistant stage manager and production assistant on Hedda Gabler, and choreographer for The Elusive. Vladimir would like to thank Altera Vitae for the opportunity to work once again with its wonderful crew (the first was Night Mother). Enjoy the show!
